Worktops are at the heart of any kitchen. They provide preparation and serving areas, and include water points and cooking areas. Conventional fitted kitchens only offer solutions in two dimensions and fail to make active use of the wall behind worktops. bulthaup b3’s function boxes make threedimensional solutions possible, enabling efficient use of the space between worktop and wall unit. Function boxes provide storage space for items such as dish soap, spices, oil and vinegar, kitchen utensils, knives, cutting boards and small containers. With these easy-to-clean function boxes, there is a place for everything and everything is in its place. When the glass doors of the function boxes are closed, there is nothing to disrupt the beauty of the kitchen’s form. bulthaup water points can be custom designed to include sinks, flat basins and drain boards and are installed flush into the worktop. Sinks of five different widths are available and can be welded into the 6mm deep utility recess. The number and position of the sinks can be customized and a draining board can be added. The unique laser-welding method from bulthaup ensures strong minimal welding seams. Functional elements, such as strainers, bowls and basins, as well as sliding elements such as the cutting board and the sliding grater enhance the water point.
